Ian Mc Gowan is best known for his Jazz guitar work with Jazz Gazette, one of the best live Jazz bands to perform in Ireland. The band was made up with top class musicians Ian, Joe Gill on drums, Mark Bradley on Horn, Gerald Bradley on Piano, Peter Doherty on Double bass. They were resident band in the Fir Trees Hotel and always had a great following. Ian was also one of the founder members of Strabane Unplugged and helped bring it to fore front of live music venues, after two years of hard work Ian has taken a back seat to work on his guitar style which he strives to improve on. His dedication to his playing standard in evident in his high standard of playing.
