Avalon Guitars
| Avalon guitars have donated one of their guitars
to Strabane Unplugged, General manager Jim Black was impressed with what the
unplugged was doing for musicians. Jim told us of his love for fine hand
crafted instruments and his many years perfecting the sound quality of
Avalon guitars. Most of the worlds top guitarists own a Avalon which is
testament to their quality. Eric Clapton, Van Morrison, The Corrs, David
Gray, Shawn Colvin, The Edge and Paul Brady can all testify to the
exceptional qualities, both in sound and appearance, of the Avalon Guitar.

Jim handed us over to Mark for a tour of the Avalon
factory. mark is a master Luther with over 20 years experience. Mark showed
us the complete process of making a Avalon guitar from start to finish.
There was a great deal of time and effort put into each guitar, every stage
was hand crafted by various master builders each guitar had its own tone to
suit the buyer and custom designed to their desires.
Mark said his job is the most satisfying work in the world
and he makes a lot of guitarists jealous when they hear of his work. Many
